OUR PROCESS

Our first step is an on-site consultation in your backyard. We assess where your yard gets the best light for growing and any additional needs like irrigation or fencing.  We also discuss your goals for the garden to get a general idea of what type of vegetables and how many of each you’d like to grow.  Our gardening technique uses high density growing in small spaces to maximize yield and minimize waste.  The goal of this consultation is determine how much garden area you will need to meet your garden goals. 

After our initial visit, we provide you with a full design proposal. Once agreed upon, we get to work!  First we clear your new garden area of trees, stumps, shrubs and prep the area for level construction.  Next, we custom build raised cedar garden beds specifically designed to meet your growing goals.  Each garden bed is filled with plant ready soil to get you growing right away.  Finally we use landscape fabric as our base topped with mulch or landscape rocks to keep the areas around your garden beds clean and weed free.

It's time to grow! In addition to full-service design and building services, we also offer planting and routine maintenance for all of your home garden needs.  We ask each client to select which vegetables they’d like to grow from our extensive Crop Menu. Based on your preferences we then establish a customized Grow Plan which provides an easy to follow planting (done by you or us) and harvest schedule to keep you growing from Spring to Fall. In addition, we believe that one of the keys to a successful garden is constant monitoring. If you’re unable to keep a watchful eye on your garden, we can cover all of your maintenance needs such as weeding, feeding, irrigation, plant training, and pruning. We’ll even harvest your vegetables at optimal timing if you’re not home.
